MMO on hold FA studios launch and FC Software Launch

Well in an attempt to generate funding to continue with the MMO project we have now launched FA Studios currently running as part of www.furious-angels.com

This will be a small indy gaming outfit making hopefully fun casual games initially releasing for free though eventually we hope to offer them through Xbox Live and Steam.

On a more business front we have put our skills towards FC Software (www.fcsoftware.co.uk) to develop business automation, sales force automation, ERP, CRM, Email Marketing and other sales and marketing solutions.

We hope revenue generated from these ventures will be able ot fund the continuation of the MMO development project over the long term.

Getting there

OK so Multiverse tools have entered an Alpha publish.

They're far from complete but they're out there for us devs to start playing with.

Not really usuable just yet for development purposes BUT they should be in the near future.
Stay tuned I promise more is coming.

In the mean time visit the Furious Angels forums and join us for random discussions and chats etc.

Decisions Decisions

OK so not admitting where I got the game engine from using it in a game if I ever complete it and go commercial could hit me with abit of a legal pickle.

Now I could license it for more than the game would ever make in return even if i charged a monthly game time fee or i can change engines.

Changing engines perhaps to an open source one or at least a cheaper one would be the sensible option but would require a considerable amount of development time to even get it to the stage i'm current at as most engines arent designed for mmo style games.

Reason for no Updates (progress)

Having a mare atm.

Net connection at home is up and down like a hookers panties due to a "fault on the line" courtsey of BT .

PC is completely shafted keeps locking up / random rebooting etc.
MB is basically fried so i've ordered a new MB and new RAM hopefully be here by end of week once its here i'll get it installed and up and running then hopefully I'll be able to get the first world build complete.

Being Slack

Not been arsed doing anything recently my max skills pissing me off threw dummy out of pram after 10th attempt to make big cactus for scenery (well it is a desert after all)

Will have another bash once I finish my full time job on Wednesday (xmas yay :( )

Basically i want about 5 different types of cactus then I'll work on decorating the world and sticking some nice big squares for place holder buildings to build up at least the layout of the town.

So hopefully by end of boxing day I'll have some in game screenshots to show you of the world and basic scenery.

Then I can work on getting the network code up and running and the server up and running then we can test it all out and hopefully get a couple of people online to test out the chat and player collision mapping.
